Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The authors have deleted their names and other references revealing the authorship (including information on project funding) from the manuscript and the instructions of Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points.
- The submission file is in PDF document file format.
- The author(s) agree(s) to the terms outlined in our Terms of Service and consent(s) to our Privacy Policy.
- The author(s) agree(s) to the copyright terms under the Copyright Notice and confirm(s) having read and explicitly agreed to the Copyright Agreement.
Article
Annales, Series Historia et Sociologia publishes original scientific articles in the fields of social sciences and humanities, with a particular focus on the history, culture, and society of Istria and the Mediterranean. The journal also welcomes contributions that engage with comparative and intercultural studies, as well as methodological and theoretical discussions pertinent to these disciplines. Submissions should align with the journal’s aims and scope, fostering scholarly dialogue and critical inquiry within these fields.

Publishing Agreement
The authors undertake that the article is their copyrighted work, that they have all rights related to the content of the article, as well as for publishing any graphic or other material, that the article is not subject of a peer review process in another journal and that the article has not yet been published and will not be published elsewhere. The Editorial Board reviews articles against plagiarism.
The article submitted can be written in Slovene, Italian, Croatian or English language. If you would like to publish the article in another language, please consult the Editorial Board. The author should ensure that their contribution meets acceptable standards of the language. If needed, the Editorial Board has the right to additionally edit the language ofthe article. The articles should not be longer than 48,000 characters (without spaces).
Copyright and Open Access Policy
The author retains copyright and grants the publisher a non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish the article in all formats and media under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license. The publisher is authorized to make editorial changes necessary for publication (e.g., proofreading, layout, formatting), provided the intellectual content remains unchanged. The journal provides immediate open access (diamond open access) to the scientific content under the license Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Users may read, download, copy, adapt, distribute, print, search, or link to articles published on the Website and use them for any lawful purpose without prior permission of the publisher or author.
